Description

This is the simplest way of srawing haemoglobin structure. The molcule has Haeme (the inorganic part which contains Iron) and globin (the protein part). The Globin part (protein part) is made of 4 polypeptides which comprises of 2 Alpha chains & 2 Beta chains. Inside each Polypeptide is a Haeme part. The Haeme has a central Iron atom. This Iron forms 6 coordinate covalent bonds. Four bonds are with 4 Nitogen atoms &, one bonds is with the Polypeptide & the one bond is with free molecular oxygen (O2). Haemoglobin is a dynamic molecule in the way it may either be saturated with O2 or with CO2.
